About Taiwan's Green Trade Missions and Actions

The international green market has grown substantially with consumers buying more and more green products. Supported by the momentum of the Paris Climate Agreement and trade liberalization for environmental goods, it is expected that the demand for low-carbon products and services will continue to grow. Therefore, industries related to green energy, energy efficiency, smart cities, transportation and circular economy will be prosperous in the next decades.

The Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) under the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) launched the “Green Trade Promotion Project” in 2011 as the central platform for Taiwan’s green trade affairs. In response to the transformation of the world into a low-carbon society, the BOFT further initiated the “Green Trade Action Plan” in 2016 while trying to maintain continuous economic growth. The missions of this Action Plan are to enhance domestic companies’ green competitiveness as well as to assist them in globally participating in green products and services promotion activities.
