This year’s Taiwan Expo 2018 in India will take place from May 17-19 at Pragati Maidan Hall 11, New Delhi. Taiwanese companies in green industries will be present to showcase their products on practical applications for India.
India, with a population of 1.3 billion, is the world’s second most populous country. It produces an average of more than 100,000 tons of solid waste per day. As the Indian government promotes “Make in India” and is also committed to the development of smart cities, India will soon become the fastest growing industrial economy in the world.
Due to all this industrial growth, India is now the world’s third highest carbon-emitting country after China and the United States. Industrial development has led to a rapid increase in the demand for electricity and wastes from coal-fired thermal power generation and industrial wastewater have become issues that must be faced in the future.
Taiwan can use its mature ICT and waste regeneration technologies to help India create a smart, green city. The “Taiwan Green Products Pavilion” showcases 13 Taiwanese companies at three major areas to provide India with green technology and promote smart cities. Furthermore, it provides India with solutions to help with managing environmental problems derived from population growth and economic development and promote waste regeneration, leading to a green lifestyle.
