Taiwanese school wiped out by deadly typhoon gets a green rebuild  [22-Oct-2012 on Thenewsmarket ] 

Min Chuan elementary school was completely wiped out by typhoon When Min-Chuan elementary school was completely destroyed by typhoon Morakot in 2009, it gave a local architecture firm the perfect opportunity to come up with a new environmentally friendly building that blends into its surroundings and make extensive use of natural materials. Morakot was the deadliest typhoon that has ever hit Taiwan and left over 400 people dead and many buildings damaged or completely destroyed. The library is the icon of the new school and is built entirely of wood, with a design that makes the most of natural sunlight and wind. In addition, an energy solar system and wind turbines are employed to reach the goal of a net-zero energy building. Footage includes soundbites with the building designers and general views.
