Taiwan's Pathway to Net-Zero Emissions in 2050

Taiwan officially announced the "Taiwan’s Pathway to Net-Zero Emissions in 2050” in March 2022. This roadmap would provide a clear trajectory and action path towards Net Zero goals by 2050, promoting technology, research and innovation in key areas, leading industries towards green transition, bringing a new wave of economic growth. It is expected that this could encourage green financing and investment increase at various key milestones to ensure a fair and bridged transition period.

In order to achieve the target goal of net zero emission, Taiwan plans to adopt 4 major transformation strategies: "Energy Transition", "Industrial transition", "Lifestyle transition" and "Social transition", and gradually realizes 2050 sustainable society with net zero emissions. Furthermore, the government will propose "12 Key Strategies", and offer customized strategic action plans to implement the long-term vision and goals of Net-Zero transformation.
